Many Men and one woMen

In the book Of Mice and Men there are a number of people who have and do not have power. One of them is George. He feels he has power over Lennie because Lennie is dumb. George is always reminding Lennie about things and getting him out of trouble. George controls what Lennie dose and says to make sure neither of them gets into trouble. This power makes George feel he can control Lennie and does not has to worry about Lennie trying to take the power from him. The next person who has power is Curly. The power Curly has is being the boss’ son and being able to do whatever he wants because he knows his dad won’t fire him. Curly uses this power to intimate the other workers. Even if the other workers try to start something with Curly they will get fired before he will. The affect this power has on Curly is by making him feel like the top dog and no one can take that from him. Another person to have power is the boss because he owns the farm and if you do something wrong then he will fire you. One person who doesn’t have power is Lennie, that’s because he’s to sweet to have any power. This lack of power doesn’t affect him at all because he wants everyone to like him.

  1. I agree with you megan George controls lennie all the power lennie has or good have go to Georges ego. Lennie could have alot of power if he only understood the world like everyone else. George controlling lennie is bad for them both because what one dies then lennie wouldn't know how to live or do stuff for him self. Heaving to much power is a bad thing. Curly on the other hand I think he thinks he has all the power just cuz his daddy is top dog but I really think he doesn't. Just because curly doesn't have any respect toward anyone he just thinks his crap doesn't stink. I think slim has alot of power but chooses when to use it. Slim shows respect un like curly and knows how to pick his battles. When it comes down to it curly and sometimes George are just ego crazed, and just needs power to fuel it.
