Ryan Makinen

Ryan John Makinen is my full entire name. I just turned 18 on August 19th. I was born in Germany because my parents were stationed there in the Air Force, and when I was two years old my family moved to Howell, Michigan. I lived in Howell for about twelve years until we moved to DeWitt because my mom got remarried. I live with my mom, step dad, sister, and baby brother. My baby brother Jack is about to turn one year old on September 17th, and my sister Brooke is a freshman, which makes me the oldest of my siblings. I've played quite a few sports over the years. I played ten years of baseball, three years of football, two years of hockey, two years of basketball, and this next year will be my fourth year in Track and Field. Track is my favorite sport, and I train for it year-round. My dream is to be in the Olympics for the 100 meter dash, the 200 meter dash, the 400 meter dash, and the 4x100 meter relay. My goal right now is to win the state championship in the 100 and 200 meter dash, and place in the top three for the 100 and 200 at the Midwest region invite. Aside from Track, I like to hang out with friends, go running, watch movies, and sometimes I like to travel. I don't usually have a lot of spare time, so I don't watch movies that often; but my favorite movie is probably Ali.

  1. How is it goin Ryan? It seems like we are in the same English class every year. What do you want to do in the future after your track career? Are you close to breaking any track records? I remember you talking about breaking a sophomore record. Track is a very demanding sport, and it takes a lot of training so I congratulate you for sticking with it even through your injury last year. Good luck in track.
