My book was no doubt a chick book, it talked about girl problems and issues that only a female would face. I am however glad that I read it though. The book gave me an insight on to a bit of what a teenage girl is faced with. The book also shows the severity of words and the harms that spreading a rumor about some one can push them to the point of wanting to take their own life. I know that the book is fiction but it is a cold real fact that teens do commit suicide, luckily in the book the main character did not commit suicide, thank goodness, the main topic that started the rumors and the name calling is Melinda was raped at a party so she called the cops and that is why no one liked her in high school. However she becomes a hero when people finally find out what had happened to her, when Andy (the boy that raped her that summer) tried to do so again and she was saved by the lacrosse team. So, I was skeptical when I started reading the book however after I finished reading it I was glad that I did so because it expanded my range of books that I read.
