It was quite a cool experience researching my topic this past week. I learned a lot about the death penalty. When I began the week I did not know there were so many arguments interlaced within the controversial topic of capital punishment. I would have never thought that there were actual problems with the action of the death penalty itself based on what I researched about some inmates feeling pain throughout the procedure. One fact that also surprised me was how much more money it costs to pursue the death penalty for a criminal compared to pursuing life without parole. Overall this research project has really shifted my ideas and views from being on the fence about the death penalty to arguing against it.
If I were to change anything about my presentation it would be my citations. I didn’t include those in my supporting evidence and it’s disappointing that I forgot it. However, I think my overall research was successful. Cost, deterrence, inhumanity, and the flaws in the justice system were the four points of evidence I used the support my argument. I researched some very reliable articles from several Law Universities. Overall, I was glad I was able to make a good research project and also learn some things in the process.
Austin,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed listening to yours and Damien's presentation it was a interesting topic to have a counter argument about. With the prezi you guys did make a long project very interesting to watch I enjoyed it a lot. When you talk about what you would change I think there really wasn't much for you too change other than the citations, because I didn't do mine either and it probably brought down my grade a little bit.
I like that you explained in your post about what they project did to your point of view on this because thats seems too be probably one of the reason's Mrs. Marble assigned the project. We related the presentations to the book but to also see things in a different way and to learn a lot of information about a topic. It was great for you to identify that in your blog.
