Presentations Damien H

When I was doing my presentation I began to realize that I had some English mistakes in some of my paragraphs. I should have maybe read through more thoroughly and maybe out loud that way I probably could have fixed those mistakes before. I also forgot to correctly cite throughout the presentation so I probably should have worked on that. Although I felt most of my presentation was good and I thought I argued for my topic well. I worked with Austin on the project so we had a pretty good argument going on and we both presented our sides clearly. I might have wanted to try and find more statistics though I really only had a few however I did research a court case and Joseph Duncan. I really liked some of the other presentations and I was especially interested in the child abuse ones those really caught my attention. It was terrible that things like that were still going on and the abuse with the baby from the nanny was especially terrible. Children should never be treated in that fashion and the people who do so should be punished severely in my opinion.

  1. Hi Damien.
I don’t think you should worry very much about the citations in your paragraphs. Mrs. Marble was not present much during the construction of the class’ presentations, and after all of the Thursday groups completed performing, she announced the reminder to cite paragraphs. Seeing as you presented on Thursday, you are at a disadvantage to those who presented after Mrs. Marble’s comments, and I believe she will compensate for the difference.
I especially enjoyed Austin and your presentation on capital punishment. I felt that your transitions between counterarguments were smooth, and you supported your positions effectively. I think you had an adequate amount of statistics. You integrated your facts more thoroughly into your comments however, and made them seem less apparent to you.
The child abuse presentations are definitely prominent in my memory. Victoria’s presentation was the most pronounced of those in this category simply due to her engagement of the class through a poll and an appalling video. I agree with you in that the unmotivated harassment of the infant in the clip was completely uncalled for, and should never occur; especially when the parents entrust their babysitter with their child’s safety and entertainment.

  2. Hi Damion I thought you and Austin did well on your presentation last week. I enjoyed learning about capital punishment. I didn't see any thing wrong with your power point spelling wise. Don't worry about citing wrong because everyone did it wrong. Plus it good practice for college. I also thought you both had good opinions and data to support your side of the topics. Also I think that you explained it clearly and it seemed that you now your information well. I also agree you should have put that court case on your power point to explain why the death penalty is good. The child abuse presentation also caught my attention because I couldn't believe how that nanny could hurt that baby. I also think that if a parent can't take care of there child responsibly then the child should be put up for adoption and the parents be put in prison .
