Flowers Vs. Mice&Men

I preferred the novel flowers for Algernon because I personally think that this novel was a much better story and was far more interesting than of mice and men, although both stories did end much in the same fashion. While Charlie left for a care facility for the cognitively impaired, effectively ending the story and leading the reader to speculate on Charlie’s eventual demise, Lenny was shot in the head which ended the story of the novel of mice and men and informs the reader of Lenny’s demise bluntly and effectively. That combined with the fact that flowers for Algernon was all around in general way better than of mice and men combined with my personal biased opinion that flowers for Algernon was better because it was more detailed and easier to follow along in plot line, I am going to have to say that flowers for Algernon beats of mice and men hands down. Of mice and men was just too un interesting! Flowers for Algernon however is fairly interesting and a great book to read despite the slightly depressing ending to the book. Of mice and men on the other hand was boring from the start and was boring to the end, with the exception being the rather entertaining class discussions with arguments about curly’s “whore” wife. That was kinda fun even if I didn’t participate in that.
