Holdens Rebelling!!!!

Holden rebels not only against society but his well-being as well. With society it is mainly when it comes to school because he doesn't put in the effort. To some that would be lack of effort but I see it as rebellion because he has been to multiple schools and hasn't succeed in any of them. At Pency Prep he didn't even try to make up for his lack of effort in his classes, and he knew he was failing too. His rebellion I believe is stating that no school is good enough to teach him, and he doesn't care whether he fails or not. This can be a huge effect on him because what is he learning from this....nothing! He is not going to know anything because he decided not to learn. So how is he suppose to get a job now if he has no learning?! He wanted to show people that he didn't need to learn to be a person, and by doing that he is not going to have a bright future. I believe he is also rebelling against his family as well. Ever since his brother died he keeps comparing himself to Allie, and how smart he was! Same with his other brother who lives in Hollywood. He rebels by trying to prove that he doesn’t need school to be like his brothers, and that he can do it himself. And now that he is out of school he is to afraid to tell his parents what really happened, so by rebelling he screwed up his life.
