Nic Kramer Week 3: Voice
In the book Flowers for Algernon, many of the characters have a large voice throughout the book. Characters like Professor Nemur have a high amount of the voice in the novel, for the things he's done. His accomplishments and discoveries give him prestige over most of the people around him and some of the scientific community, putting him in a high position in the novel. On the other end of the spectrum is Charlie, he was a mentally challenged adult destined to become smart. He plays a big role in book, but he has a smaller voice compared to someone like Burt. As he gets smarter, he starts to gain more voice because of the intelligence level he gains, making him more aware of his surroundings. As he gains this understanding, he starts to react accordingly and gains a sort of respect from the other characters. His voice really reaches a peak when, at the conference, he lets Algernon out from his cage in front of everyone, proving that he has the ability to "speak up." After taking Algernon with him, for whatever reason he had in mind, leaves to go back to New York City. This is now a point where Charlie has a lot if voice in the book because of his actions to challenge authority.

Hi Nick I agree with you about Professor Nemur having a large voice in the book Flowers Of Algernon. I also believe this because he found the cure for mental retardation witch help him get more recognition as a scientist. I think that your kind of wrong on the other hand because he didn't know the side effects before he tested it on Charlie. I have to disagree with you about Charlie having a small voice in the book because we learn about his life throw his journals. We also learn about his past throw his flash backs when he becomes smarter. I agree with you about when Charlie get smarter he becomes more mentally and physical mature. Another point that we agree on is his pick of intelligence is when he let's algernon out of the cage because he see that the scientist don't respect him and that he is smarter then them at that time.
