Power comes with responsibility
In Of Mice and Men I believe George to have the more voice right now because if Lennie were to speak he is afraid it may cause a problem. It's not like Lennie doesn't know how to talk but I think it's cause George is afraid he will say something about their past that will ruin their job opportunities. Lennie doesn't have a voice because George is always choosing to speak for him and make sure he stays in his place and doesn't step out of line. When we are talking about power, I think the person with the most of it is probably Curley cause not only is he the boss’s son but he is able to make the others feel threatened by him. He may be small but people say that he’s a mean fighter and will take you done. George and Lennie don’t have any power, but they could. George seems like the type of person who could become your worst enemy and he’s anger could help him get some of that power and not feel so angry at Curley. Lennie since he is so big could have power if he was just taught to understand when to use that power of strength on people and not animals. With power comes responsibility. When we talk about race, there is a race problem. We seem to be in the time of slavery and they aren’t treated so well. They are worked till they bleed and even beaten for somebody else’s mistakes or anger. Men in this book are either workers or bosses and women are seen as sluts. Women aren’t really seen as the type to respect in this book cause all men see are sex objects.
