Power and Voice
In the setting of Mice of Men, is set back then in California and it takes place at ranch. So the voice is kinda of southern. Like when Lenny said that Curley's wife was purty. Also it has a olden style of voice like from the 1950s. In Mice of Men, it does not lack power once ever. George has power over Lenny because Lenny is not normal, so George kind of takes advantage of him and he tells him what to do. Also George has power Lenny because he is not capable of speaking like when Slim asked him about his past job experiences and George spoke up for him. Also In this book Curley has power over everyone else in the ranch because he was an ex boxer. So everyone fears him and what he will do to them. Also Lenny started to talk to Curley's wife and George advised him not to because Curley wants to beat him up already. So he tells him not to talk to her. Curley gains power by beating up people that are bigger than him but really Curley knows they aren’t truley strong. This makes Curley gain power because people see him beat up bigger people, so people will be scared of him.
