of mice and men... but what about women?

Of Mice and Men focuses on gender. It is always men that do all the work, and get the money, and go to town, and own land, and so on and so forth. The only female character in the novel that directly interacts with the other characters in the novel is curly’s wife, and she does not even have a name! everything belongs to men in this novel, power, land, money, rights, women, voice, minorities, the power of justice, and the power of government. EVERYTHING is the property of men! There is nothing that is not controlled by men, nor owned by men. Curly’s wife is the only female character in the novel that we read about interacting directly with the two main characters of the novel. and she causes trouble unintentionally in multiple places. But mostly when she corners lennie in the barn and forces him to talk to her. Her desperate search for attention got her killed and in the end got lennie killed. So why is it that she cant talk to any one? Why does she get killed and why does lennie have to die? Because men own the world in this novel, and men own women. Curly is over protective of his wife and wants to hurt anyone he finds talking to her.
