My name is Austin Nolen. I was born on December 11, 1993 and have lived in DeWitt, Michigan my whole life. I am the youngest of 6 in my family and I have 3 nephews and 4 nieces. Some things I’ve involved in at the high school are Marching Band and Robotics Club. Last year we performed the show “The Four Freedoms” and took 5th in the state for our division which is the best the band has done. I enjoy Marching Band because it I like the music and performing a show as a group. I’m also apart of the robotics club where, as a team, build a robot and compete against other teams in a point-based game. The game is played on a 12 by 12 foot field and the object of the game is different every year. Last year we did very well at the World Championships in Orlando, FL where we took 4th in the world. Robotics club has been a great experience because I learned a lot about how a robot works. My plans after high school are to hopefully go to MSU to study electrical engineering. I am also looking at Michigan Tech and Kettering University. I hope to do well in college as well as meet new people.
That's really cool Austin. I think that since you are planning to go into electrical engineering, robotics club is a great choice of an extra curricular activity. I know that you did very well this past year in the club, and I hope that you do even better this next year. If you and your team does, you will have won something at a level unmatched to any other team, club, or individual in this school.
