This summer, I went to my first Detroit Tigers game. My parents, grandparents, cousin and I all went together. It was on July 30 on a Saturday afternoon and it was very hot and sunny. We all went to lunch at Hockey Town before the game; the food was amazing. Our seats were on the first base side near the outfield in the fourth row. During the game, a lot of foul balls went on our side, but we did not get any and the Tigers lost; they were playing the Las Angeles Angles. It was a fun game anyway and I really wanted to go to another game.
Later in mid-August my parents and I went to Cincinnati, Ohio for the Western and Southern Open (tennis). We left on a Sunday and went to the open on a Monday and Tuesday. On Monday it was really hot and sunny and there were a lot of people that were there. We got there around 10:30 a.m. and started to walk around and find everything because this was our first time going. We saw Andy Roddick, Rafael Nadal, John Isner and Tomas Berdych at their practices, just to name a few. On Tuesday we saw Roger Federer, Caroline Wozniaki, and Novak Djokovic practice. I also got four signatures.
On Wednesday we left and were going to another Detroit Tigers game. This time we sat in the second row on the same side. In about the sixth inning Victor Martinez came up to bat and hit a line drive over at me and it hit my left elbow which after it hit I lost the feeling in my arm for a few seconds and I never got the ball. Even though that happened it was the best week I had this summer.
Hi Brianne, just checking on something. :)
ReplyDeleteI’ve known you forever and I never knew that you’ve never been to a Tiger’s game before. I thought you went every summer to at least one game. I know you went to the tennis open, but I didn’t know you got autographs. Didn’t you get a picture with your favorite player too?
ReplyDeleteHi, Brianne!
ReplyDeleteIt’s awesome you were able to go to the Western and Southern Open. I know how passionate you are about tennis. I’m glad you got to see professional tennis players practice and play live; not to mention you were able to get four autographs. Maybe you picked up a few tricks for when the season begins here in DeWitt!
I’m glad you were also able to attend two Detroit Tigers games. It’s not tragic if the home team loses, I simply like to watch baseball live. It is much more energetic and pervading in the stadium watching the game than on television, in my opinion. During the second game, it’s amazing how close you sat to the field! I hope your elbow is alright from getting hit! It’s unfortunate you weren’t able to get the ball, but at least you have recovered feeling in your arm.
