POWER (who has it? Who doesn't? who wants it? how does power, or lack thereof, affect characters?)
Between George and Lennie, George has all the power and is the one who makes all the decisions. Lennie is content with this because he would be lost without George, who looks after him. Both George and Lennie are trying to gain power by working at various ranches to gain a lot of money. If they had money, they wouldn't be working at ranches any more. At the ranch, the Boss has all the power simply because he is the owner of the ranch. Although Curley has power, he feels as if he has to prove something and thinks he is better than everyone else. Curley feels valnurable due to his small size. He feels no good compared to Lennie who has a bigger build. So Curley feels as if he has to fight him to prove his power over everyone else. Curley is power hungry and wanting power is what drives Curley's actions. The other workers at the ranch don't really show any actions that they want power. They are content with making a living by working hard every day on this ranch.
I completely agree with you , curly has little man syndrome, it’s a true disease I looked it up on the internet. Curly is what I call a tool he thinks hes way more important in this world then he really is, in my opinion hes replaceable and on this topic of curly I just wanna say I do not believe curlys wife is a whore I believe she doesn’t like her husband so she is trying to set him up with a guy that will beat curlys face in. she knows that curly will go after anyone that trys to talk to curlys wife. When Lenny crunched and broke curlys hand I was so happy because he deserved it. Now on to Lenny he needs to not take so much crap from the other farm hands. George definitely controls Lenny, lenny hardly ever makes a decision for himself George is always yelling at him, with a retarded person yelling wont solve the issue that will just confuse or upset them, because they don’t understand why they are getting yelled at. Its like yelling at a 2 year old.
