The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time

The book that I am currently reading for my choice novel is called The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. This book is about an autistic boy, Christopher, who heard of a murder in his neighborhood. His neighbor, Mrs. Shears' dog, Wellington, was murdered in her front yard. When Christopher hears of this murder, he is instantly so interested and wants more than anything to figure out who murdered Wellington. Christopher's father is mysteriously angry when he finds out that Christopher is going from house to house asking questions in attempts to solve the mystery.

As I am reading this book, I find many connections to the other three books we have read. For example, Christopher must lie to keep his father from finding out that he is still trying to solve the mystery, and this is very similar to Holden from The Catcher in the Rye because he also continuously lied. The reason Holden and Christopher are different, though is because Holden lies just because he likes to and for his own enjoyment, but Christopher must lie in order to keep himself from getting in trouble.
