Speak

The novel that I’m choosing to read as my novel of choice is Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. I chose to read this book mostly because my mom reads the book at her high school and I know that it is quite similar to the books that we’ve read so far in class. The main character, Melinda is just entering high school and doesn’t have many friends at all. She claims to be an outcast. We learn that she’s lost a lot of her old friends but we don’t know why yet. The way that the book is set up is very interesting and it keeps my attention. Another reason why I chose to read this book is because it seems so interesting, like the story behind it. I feel like I’m never going to know what is coming next. Ways that this book relates to the other books we’ve read in class is that they all deal with loneliness and people who don’t have anyone that’s really there for them. They all face troubles and conflicts with society that they have to learn how to overcome by them. Another way this book can relate to the other books we’ve read is that it deals with relationships with the people around them. Reading the rest of this book will be very interesting & I’m really excited. Okay bye!
