STiLL ALiCE -Ryan Makinen week 8

The novel that I am reading is STiLL ALiCE. Alice has a husband and three kids. Her husband and her are both professors at the University of Harvard. Alice likes to run quite often, and she always runs the same route. One day she was in the middle of Harvard Square when she was running, and she had no idea where she was and it took her a while to remember how to get home. She has also been forgetting words that she wants to say in her lectures and has missed a plane flight because she forgot about it; which has never happened in the past. Alice is fifty, so she thinks that she might have menopause which could be the cause of her memory loss. Alice saw her doctor for some blood tests, and the doctor recommended that she would see a neurologist. After doing some tests, the neurologist diagnosed her with Alzheimer's disease. Now that she has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's she's been wondering if there will be a time in her life when she forgets her family and is incapable of communicating with anyone. Curious if she received the disease because of genetics, she is now putting her blame on her deceased father and is worried that her children might get Alzheimer's when they get older.
