The book my group is reading, and that we are almost
finished with is called The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime.
At this point in the novel, the main character Christopher has run away from
his father due to the fact that he is sick of this dad lying to him and
treating him like a little kid. Sure, Christopher is mentally challenged and
has problems understanding things the same way that normal people do. But, I don’t
think that this gives his father the right to treat him the way he does. He has
lied to him about multiple things like his mother, and the dog. Christopher
decides the best thing for him to do is to run away to find his mother. When he
finds her, he realizes that it’s not as great as he expected it to be. His
mother is currently living with the same person that she cheated on his dad
with. She realizes that it is not safe for her and Christopher to live there
anymore and she moves them back into his dad’s house. Christopher’s dad buys
him a dog to make up for the incident that happened earlier in the novel with
the dog. Honestly, out of all the books we have read so far this term, I think
I like this one the best. It has the best plot and keeps me interested more
than the other ones did. I am looking forward to the ending.
