week 7 conors cut

I choose the book cut because it wasn’t that long and I really didn’t have any other books in mind and cause marble said it was a good book.  It relates to the catcher in the rye the most because the main character, Callie, is a lot like Holden. There both kind of in the same boot when it comes to their relationship with their parents. In the catcher in the rye Holden loses his younger brother and in cut callies brother is often really sick and has to go to the hospital a lot. Their parents are similar; they both have a sick kid that takes up most of their time which in the end leaves Callie and Holden out. Also Callie and Holden both get sent away.  So they both feel like they’ve been abandoned are like they’ve just been pushed aside. That’s why in the catcher in the rye, Holden decides to leave school early and runs wild in New York just because he knows he can.  In cut Callie gets sent to sea pines which they call “sick minds” and she decides to stop talking and so far hasn’t started to talk to anyone just so she feels like she has more control.

  1. Haha well we put pretty much the exact same stuff like similarities amd reasons to read the book but another similariy i put was that they both go to a place away from their parents and i also think for both of them its kind of a way to leave all their worries behind like callie and her brother and holden with his relation ship with his parents..also the biggest thing i seen they have in commen is that niether of the parents really have any way to help with their childrens rehabolitation besides sending them off specialist eho they think they will be able to reach out to. Weather its the doctors at sick minds or the kids at private schools..or holdens theripist like figure.
