Changing Society

Many of us think that society as a whole could be better sometimes. It could be political views, or the way people dress, or the ways school is taught. Society is a powerful body of people and ideas that cannot be moved simply in one direction without a mass of the people want that to change, but some people just don't want it to change and stick to the way things were. Holden doesn't seem to care for society that much due to the way he seems to act and perceive everything. He is quite pessimistic about the world around him at all times and can't seem to find the good in situations. This, I believe, is mainly his own doing as he flunks out of multiple schools and looks at the things and people around him and accuse them of being "phony". Society is what it is, and he can't change that unless he started some large movement, which, more then likely won't happen due to what seems like Holden's lack of devotion to almost anything. All he really has to do is blend in along with everyone else, which isn't to hard or exactly too much to ask from someone.
