I don't want to grow up :(

At some point everyone must grow up even if they do not want to. Just like Holden does when he makes the chose to tell his parents he flunked out of another school instead of continuing to hide from them. Also he grows up when he’s brother Allie died, even if he does have a mental breakdown for a little bit. Another time Holden grows up is when he decides not to go west for his own selfish reasons and to stay in New York so Pheobe does not run away with Holden. We see Holden grow up when he talks smooth to the lady he danced with and did not even yell at her when she was not paying attention to what he was saying. I had to grow up and not be a kid anymore in the second grade after my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had to keep things in line so my family had an easier time going though this. Another time I had to grow up was after my dad died the summer before my sophomore year of high school. I couldn’t do a lot of the things I wanted to do anymore because I needed to be held countable to other people for things.
