For my choice novel I'm reading "The perks of being a Wallflower", I think I'll enjoy this novel a lot because it has a very strong meaning behind it. The story is about a boy named Charlie that is a freshman in High School that deals with his best friend committing suicide. He then was taken under by a couple of seniors to be a friend too him.
This book is like the book "Catcher in the Rye" because both Holden and Charlie become lonely and out siders to other people. They don't put themselves in with the crowd they decide too be the odd ones out. Also in this novel it is like the other book because they both loose a loved one. In the wallflower Charlie's looses his best friend and in the Catcher in the Rye he looses his brother Allie. I make connections with Charlie a little bit because I have also lost a close family member and I can relate to his pain.
I'm excited to read this book it seems so interesting. This book seems like it will be hard to put down. Over this next week I look forward too reading one of MTV's most popular movies.
Your novel seems very interesting! The novel I’m reading is called "Thirteen Reasons Why." it’s about a girl who commits suicide (just like your novel a little) and makes cassette tapes telling people why they caused her to kill herself. Your novel really relates to "The Catcher in the Rye." you made great connections with your choice novel and "The Catcher in the Rye." When i was reading your post it made me want to read your novel of choice :) I'm guessing in my novel that the girl that committed suicide she must have been lonely and very sad and probably kept to herself like Holden and Charlie did. I can also relate to Charlie because i have lost someone that i loved very much and it was extremely hard to deal with. i hope this novel is a good book for you. can't wait to hopefully read it one day because it sounds like a really good book.
ReplyDeletewhats up this charles i think your book is also very interesting. i also like hoe you compared the book you are reading to the book that you liked the most. i also think the book you chose is a very deep book.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the book we are reading so far. I have wanted to not put the book down and keep reading. Unlike the other books, it blends the topics together in a more interesting way. I also think that we can relate to it better because its a more modern teenager version. Since charlie is in highschool and goes through all the awkward phases and peer pressure. When he loses his bestfriend I feel as though that makes him feel alone and makes him act awkward just like Holden. He also has not a lot of knowledge about sexual things and that makes him innocent. He has to seek information from friends about it, just like Charlie from Flowers.
