Sadly our society has been set for us. There is no way that one man can stand up ageist it can survive. In The Catcher in the Rye, Holden finds this out in a lot of ways. One way is when he talks about how much he likes to drink even tho the drinking age is far above his age he still tries to get drinks. Most of the time tho society stops him from getting his drinks because he has no ID with him to prove he is old enough. Another way is he tries to change society is the way he tries to talk openly about sex. Now a days it is more expectable, but that’s because many people made it so no just one man.
In my life a great example of people trying to chance the world slowly if the Dewitt creativity group with Mr. Lafay and Mr. Croley. I may not be a huge part of the Dewitt creativity group but I go and support my friends how takes part in it. They show that maybe only one person may not change it, but if we all try we can change the world. Our at least society in the
i agree with your main statements mr conway, but i don't exactly agree with the examples from the book as being reasons for how he tries to change society. teenagers try to drink all the time, doesnt mean they're trying to change society. also talking about sex in any time period wouldnt be trying to change society, its just asking some questions that are either seen as inaappropriate or the norm, but i wouldnt take it as someone trying to make everyone else talk about it
