Ethan Week5

Beats in the building! In my opinion holden hasnt lost his innocence because its kinda hard to lose what you never had. Hes never been an innocent kid i dont believe. thats like saying i lost my scholarship but i never had one in the first place. Holden lives his life with no rules which is rebellious against authority. although if my parents shipped my off to bording schools even if i didnt like them and i kept on gettting kicked out of them i would be rebelling also. when he decides to leave school and go to new york to see his parents he obvisouly does want some authority in his life. if my mom kept shipping me off to bording school i dont think i would go back to see her yeah i would miss her but i think i would be way too upset with her. although some argue that shes looking out for him and giving him the best education but that doesnt matter if he doesnt absorb the information the school is trying to teahc him.

  1. I think that you are right with some stuff and wrong with other stuff Ethan. I agree that Holden is not innocent anymore. However, I think that he was definitely innocent when he was younger. In some of the stories he tells about his childhood, he seems to be like every other kid. He worried about his sister and his parents, and he played with other younger kids. Yeah, he drinks and smokes and stuff, and he really has no authority in his life, but that’s now. I don’t think he was like this at all when he was younger. And also, I don’t agree with you on how you think his mom is just sending him off to boarding school. They seem to care for him from what he has said about them, and they certainly care for his future. But I think you are wrong saying his mom is doing it just cause she doesn’t want him to be around.
