Week 5 post
I believe the most important point in the "Catcher In The Rye is Holden" is Holden rebellious attitude agents society. For example he doesn't go any sport games . Also he doesn't try to make or meet new friends. Another thing that we see Holden a lot lie. Like when he lie to the mother about his school and class on the train ride to New York. Also he is super cynical of other people and calls them phonies. He try's to make him self more important then he actually is . The thing that Holden can't seem to do is be himself. I think this because he didn't have a good childhood along with trying to live up to his siblings. Which makes him cynical of other people so that he can feel better about him self. In turn push people away causin him to have no friends. The place where we see holden the most looniest is when he is in New York because he cant call any one to help him when he arrives in New York. In the end we see holder struggle to fit in society because of his child and his lack of friends.
