Grow up People

In life, there is always a time where you must grow up regardless of what you are doing. In the book I feel that HOlden never really grew up. He was very awkward around people and to me it seemed like he was very childish at multiple times. One example is when he wouldn't leave Stradlater alone in the bathroom while he was getting ready for his date. Also, Holden was very awkward around people, especially women. Holden tried to act grown up when he was drinking and smoking but that didn't really do much to prove that he was grown up. He is only 16 years old and he is already doing those things. I don't believe that this is being grown up. In my opinion, doing those things is just his way of trying to fit in with people and a way for him to be "cool." In real life, everybody needs to grow up at some point in their early lives. It is so important for everyone to do this. Examples of a person being grown up can be very simple things such as a person using proper manners. The tougher situations for people to know that people are grown up are the tough decisions people have to make. This is a big example of people being grown-up.
