week 5 post austen connelly

Holden rebels against authority in the book. When anyone with authority tries to tell Holden what to do and how to do it, he does not respond well to the orders and therefor is not liked by the elders. His family was never there for him as he grew up. He was sent away to boarding school where the authority of the teachers and adults around should have been stricter than any other school he could have attended. Holden began failing school and not doing his work as his teachers asked him. As soon as he could he ditched school and ran away to start his new life without the power and authority from the teachers and being around the other students in which he does not like mostly. I think Holdens problems and inablility to make friends and be social came from his parents actions. They were never really there for him always treating him like he wasn’t there son. The problems he faced being around them will probably make him unable to have a family in the future or be happy like he wanted to be as he was growing up while he is raising his new family.

  1. I think that You're right austin holden has a constatnt issue with rebellion in the book. Sooner than later he needs to realize that he needs to actually grow up. olden has this view of himself as a much older person than he actually is and he doesn't realize that maybe when he actually starts to mature he wont feel so out of place and he will come to accept things better.
Holden will come to this realization sooner or later the real question is when will he.
