We all have to grow up eventually whether we like it or not. Everyone needs to finally take on their own certain responsibilities. In the book, The Catcher in the Rye, Holden likes to think that he is the exception to that statement. He doesn’t believe that he has to own up to any of his mistakes. He has failed out of many schools and he doesn’t even think it’s his own fault; he always blames it on the school. Whether it is the people in school, or where the school is at, he never stops to thinks it might be him. Holden always deals with his problems by running away from the matter. I don’t know any situation where running away has made it any better. It’s better to just own up and face the consequences. Holden is a mentally challenged and completely immature, but he doesn’t seem to think so. He believes in a way that he is always right and that he is the most mature the group.
